CMP Rimfire Sporter (and Tactical) Match

Due to the CMP adding a new Tactical Rimfire catagory at the National Matches this year, there will be an added re-entry match allowing competitors who have fired once the oportunity to fire again in a different catagory for an additional $5.00.
The intent is to allow competitors to shoot in more than one catagory.
ELIGIBILITY :ALL competitors MUST have a signed, notarized "Eligibility Affidavit and Liability Agreement" on file to participate. These can be printed from the following web pages: www.usrpa.org, www.centervillesmallarms.org,and www.odcmp.com.

Any competitor 16 years of age or older may enter this match. Shooters under 16 must have a parent or guardian present.

REGISTRATION: Registering indicates you have read this match program. Please email your intent to participate to highpower @ centervillesmallarms.org to facilitate advance squadding and to ensure an entry. Payment can be made at the range 30 minutes before match time. Late registration at the range will be handled in a case by case basis.
REGISTRATION LIMITED: Entries will be limited to the first 30 competitors to register.
EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR: The use of an Empty Chamber Indicator (ECI) is mandatory (Rule 3.21). They are available for $1.00. from the match director during registration
RIFLES ALLOWED FOR THIS EVENT: Rifles chambered for 22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle. The rifle with scope and sling may not weigh more than 7.5 lbs. Scopes may not be more than 6 power (Variables that exceed 6 power can be taped to 6 or less power. Trigger pull can not be less than 3 lbs. Rifles should be capable of holding 5 rounds.
RIFLE SIGHTS: Telescopic, receiver or open sights may be used. Shooters who use rifles with telescopic or receiver (aperture) sights compete in the T-Class. Scopes are limited to six power (6X). If a variable scope is used, the power adjustment may not exceed 6X and it must be taped in that location. Any rifles with receiver (aperture or ‘peep’) sights must be used in the T-Class. Shooters who use rifles with open sights compete in the O- Class.
New catagory added. The CMP is adding a "Tactical Rifle" catagory.
TACTICAL RIMFIRE RIFLE RULES. The 2010 National Rimfire Sporter Match program includes a Tactical Rimfire Class. Rifles that are legal in the Tactical Class must comply with the requirements listed above and have a configuration that is similar to that of common AR and modern military rifles. Tactical rimfires may have either aperture or optical sights (no higher than 6X). Magazines of any length may be used, but during firing, the magazine may not be used to support the rifle. The magazine may touch the arm, but it may not rest on the competitor’s arm (provide support) or on the shooting mat or ground. The inclusion of Tactical Rimfire Rifles in CMP Rimfire Sporter competition is new and the CMP expects that experiences gained with this new class in 2010 will guide the future development of rules for this class.
TARGETS: CMP Rimfire Sporter Targets
COURSE OF FIRE; 50 Shot Match
SIGHTING STAGE: Fired at 50 yards, unlimited sighting shots, prone position, 10 minute time limit. The scorer of another competitor may spot shots and assist in sighting in. A rest may be used at this stage only.
Stage 1: 50 yards, 10 shots for record, prone position, 10 minute time limit.
Stage 2: 50 yards, two series of five shots for record, standing to prone, rapid fire, time limit 25 seconds for Semi-auto, 30 seconds for manually operated rifles.
Stage 3: 50 yards, 10 shots for record, sitting or kneeling position, 10 minute time limit.
Stage 4: 50 yards, two series of five shots for record, standing to sitting or kneeling position, rapid fire, time limit 25 seconds for Semi-auto, 30 seconds for manually operated rifles.
Stage 5: 25 yards, 10 shots for record, standing position, 10 minute time limit.
Stage 4: 25 yards, two series of five shots for record, standing position (Shooter must start with the rifle butt at the hip), rapid fire, time limit 25 seconds for Semi-auto, 30 seconds for manually operated rifles.
FACILITIES: The range has no protection from the weather. Please be prepared. There is no food or water available at the range. Please bring plenty to drink. There are porta potties at the range.
AWARDS: Achievement Pins will be awarded to those who shoot eligable scores.
Please note, these cutoff points are set by the CMP and may change by the time the match is held.

Gold: T-class, 577 or higher; O-class, 565 or higher; Tactical, 575 or higher.
Silver: T-class, 565-576; O-class, 550-564; Tactical, 563-574.
Bronze: T-class, 546-564; O-class, 525-549; Tactical 542-562
